I was born and raised in the heart of wine country in Northern California.  While growing up I fell in love with the outdoors, led a 100 mile backpacking trip in Yosemite National Park and received my Eagle Scout award.  I moved to Los Angeles where I earned my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Physics from Harvey Mudd College.

I learned to love light, lenses and mirrors, so I began what has become a 20 year career in optical engineering.  Co-housing with two of my closest friends, I learned to build community and encourage the best in others as one built a career as a Senior Software Engineer at Google and the other went on to design many of the earliest champions in the video game League of Legends.  I took up swing dancing where I met my wife and life partner, Stephanie.

In 2011, I accepted a position designing cataract surgery laser optics in the best little city I had ever seen: Aliso Viejo!  I have since helped those afflicted by eye diseases see again with augmented reality headsets, and developed a totally new type of digital surgical microscope.  Now I am working to give satellites the ability to see in space.

Stephanie and I started our lives together in the City Lights Apartments fifteen years ago.  Since then, we were married, purchased our first home in District 2, and welcomed our daughter, Sophia.  I believe in this community and have invested my time volunteering as Scoutmaster for Aliso Viejo Troop 700, singing in the choir at Corpus Christi Catholic Church and I'm working hard to earn the privilege of serving you on the City Council.  My roots here run deep and I am passionate about making Aliso Viejo the best little city it can be!
